Leading from the Heart

I Am a Leader of Love and Hope

I am a leader of love and hope

I wonder how we can activate change in education.

I hear words of resilience “I can get better” “I will try again, again and again”

I see students of all colors engaged in learning together

I want all students to be part of equitable learning environments

I am a leader of love and hope

I believe building relationships is vulnerable, yet most necessary

I feel we are all part of something greater than ourselves

I touch the hearts and hands of those in greatest need

I worry about repercussions of a society that is unjust and uneducated

I cry for every student that was given up on

I am a leader of love and hope

I understand the value of shaping heart and minds

I say “no one can take an education away from you”

I dream of the day we are all life-long learners

I try to lead by example

I hope to inspire others to be the best version of themselves

I am a leader of love and hope.

#1

Hope

“We must know that we have been created for greater things, not just to be a number in the world...We have been created in order to love and to be loved.  Acts of love go much further than acts of pride, hatred, and mindless acts.”

Mother Teresa

#2

Relationships

"Relationships will be at the center of this sense of love and hope. Connecting to others and developing trust are necessary. I choose to believe and invest in others. I choose to listen first, to listen for understanding, and to listen intently."

Celina Gonzalez

#3

Community

“people want to believe you are sincerely interested in them as persons, not just for what they can do for you.”

John Wooden

#4

Integrity

“There is a choice you have to make,

In everything you do.

So keep in mind that in the end,

The choice you make, makes you.”

~John Wooden.
